"This is an excellent hotel, very well maintained. Service was great. Excellent food with plenty of choices. Only downside was the service at the store (which I think is a franchise not related to Riu). We had a situation in which one of our family members was stomach sick. One of the employees at the store recommended Dramamine ($40.00 !!!!!) which I purchased. Five minute later, we decided that this medication was not what we needed and we tried to change it (without even opening it) for Pepto-Bismol. It was a very bad experience as the store manager gave us a hard time being extremely rude and unhelpful. After a little discussion, she finally agreed to change the medication. However, as this new medication was cheaper, she wouldn't give us the money back. We were forced to purchase items from the store to make up for the difference. We selected some ceramic shot glasses and she charged us $3.00 to wrap them in paper. Obviously, they are taking advantage of the customers as there are no other stores or pharmacies around the hotel. Next ones were 10 miles away."

"Loved the ocean beach. Servers came frequently to ask your beverage orders and fresg coconut water from the husk. Rooms were cleaned daily & fresh towels were plentiful at the beach. Loved the swim bars at the main pool. Excellent services to throughout my 5-day stay June 2026 at Playa de las Mujeres at Excellence Hotel in Punta Sam, Mexico. Staff was very accommodating and courteous."

"Our stay at Catalonia Grand was absolutely exceptional. As a family, this was our very first all-inclusive resort experience with our children, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beauty of the resort, the immaculate grounds, and the attention to detail throughout the property. Everything was spotless, well maintained, and created a truly luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. What made our experience especially memorable was the outstanding service. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely eager to ensure we had an unforgettable vacation. The bar staff was particularly fantastic—friendly, engaging, and always ready with excellent service and a smile. No matter where we were on the property, we felt genuinely cared for. The dining experience was another highlight of our stay. We especially loved the hibachi restaurant, which was both entertaining and delicious, and the steakhouse, where we enjoyed some of the best meals of our trip. The quality of the food, and service was outstanding. As first-time visitors to an all-inclusive resort with our kids, we weren’t sure what to expect, but Catalonia Grand delivered the perfect combination of luxury, relaxation, and exceptional hospitality. The memories we made together as a family are ones we will cherish for years to come. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already planning our return visit. "very clean you can walk around without your feet being black , the only thing i would say is the food is kind of bland but other then that great stay very luxurious and nice"

"Very nice resort. Food was excellent but bad time of the year for beach access. The weather was windy which created rough waves and seed weed. The only complaint I have was the bed. The mattress was very uncomfortable and woke up every morning very stiff. The entertainment was great every night. I traveled alone and felt very safe and met a lot of wonderful people."
