"The outside of the buildings looked a little old, but inside, it was very clean and very comfortable with an impressive amount of helpful appliances for food and temperature/humidity comfort. The shower and bedroom were particularly nice. I would have given this hotel a perfect 5 star rating, but unfortunately the bedroom window (Room #7) faced a separate residential house that had many very loud and annoying dogs that barked every day from 6am to 12pm without stopping. Koduchi no Yado Tsurukamedaikichi

"This was an excellent ryokan with a very convenient location, just a short walk from the main tourist attractions and the bus stop. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The highlight of my visit was definitely the private bath overlooking the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and easily one of the best experiences of my trip so far. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an authentic ryokan experience with exceptional hospitality."

"Convenient location, across from Nikko station. Some corners of my room were slightly dusty, but overall, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel may be a little dated but this didn’t bother me. Facilities are well-maintained. Enjoyed the on-site onsen and complimentary beverages in the morning and evening. There was a slight issue at check-in which the helpful staff worked to resolve."

"Lovely space. Very large buffet for dinner and breakfast with a mix of mostly Japanese and some western foods. Afternoon tea was appreciated by hungry family after hiking that day. We had a traditional tatami room to accommodate our family in one room, a bit dusty for the son with allergies, sleeping so close to the floor Outdoor rooftop onsen had amazing views. Mens only and women’s only Catch the shuttle bus (110 yen per person) across the street from the Tobu Nikko station, in front of the coffee shop. We played tennis at the court across the front entrance for 1100 yen (rackets and ball rental) Trail around the hotel was nice in the morning to wake up but would not venture out past dark as there are no lights beyond the very start. A bit of a hill heading back and we finished it in under 30 mins but we were motoring to get to our breakfast buffet start. "
