“We chose Shiki Homes Aki as our Kyoto base because we like to cook for ourselves and relax in the evening, while still having access to local sights and the public transport system. Shiki Homes Aki provided a well maintained, comfortable base in easy reach of buses and the subway. The Imperial Palace Gardens, the Nishijin textile area and Nijo Castle were all short walks from the house and city buses took us to other shrines, temples and shopping areas. “This little house was perfect for our family to regroup and relax after a day’s sightseeing. Everything we needed was there and it was great to be able to cook our own breakfast. Supermarkets within walking distance and bus/metro. ”

“The property had everything we needed. The full kitchen was a must for us and they provided everything. The house was so authentic. we enjoyed exploring the Northern part of Kyoto and heading up to the mountain so this was a perfect location for us to explore from. we would definitely come back here to this location again.”

“Our family loved our stay at Cochi-en. Location is great, close to the train station, convenience store, restaurants and a short walk from Kyoto Imperial Palace. The place itself is beautiful, with traditional Japanese touches with modern amenities. We felt warm and comfortable during our stay, we especially loved the relaxing bath. “とても分かりにくい場所にあります。周辺にあまり飲食店も少なく、交通の便もあまり良くないです。良いところは、周辺が静かなのでのんびり過ごしたい人にはお薦めです。宿の中は古民家を改築したような作りなので、コンセントの位置や家具の配置等も快適さに拘るならあまりお薦めできません。また、虫が多く苦手な方はお薦めできません。立て付けに隙間が多く、蚊、蛾、その他様々な虫達と出会いました。そういうのも古民家らしい風情があって宜しいと思う方が良いと思います。フロントの方はとても親切で分からないことは逐一教えて下さいます。”
