"This Holiday Inn actually adjoins the Hualuxe Hotel (both properties are owned by the IHG group). When you arrive, you check in at the Hualuxe reception area. A buffet breakfast is served on Level 1 of the Hualuxe property; guests also have access to the swimming pool on Level 3 of the Hualuxe Hotel. The properties are located in a fairly quiet, leafy area, and it's only a 12-minute walk to the Guangming Road metro station, from where you can get to the centre of Shanghai in just over an hour....

"Hotel is located right inside a beautiful park. Breakfast is awesome and offers a lot of choices, hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. Only the gym could offer a little more exercise options, its basically 2 treadmills and 3 different weights. Only con in my opinion: It is difficult to get a taxi. Especially as a foreigner without access to AliPay or DiDi (Chinese Uber). Hotel staff will order you a taxi but it takes a while."

"Lovely hotel and excellent location,(French concession area), ideal for our visit to see our daughter. The only negative was the shower, excellent pressure but over the bath and dual control with bath taps, the shower head kept falling out of the wall bracket especially if pressure was full on…we definitely prefer a cubicle. Bottles of toiletries would also be preferable instead of small tubes. Overall the hotel was great, clean, comfortable and quiet. For info we had a superior double room which had a large king sized bed."

Housekeeping was incredibly attentive — they refreshed our room twice a day and always made sure everything was spotless. What touched us the most was the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. They went above and beyond to celebrate my birthday, preparing a lovely surprise that made the day unforgettable. Every interaction with the team was warm, professional, and genuine. My girlfriend and I felt truly cared for throughout our stay — it was one of the happiest times we’ve shared together. I can’t thank the Shangri-La team enough for their exceptional hospitality.
