“I loved the place, I was welcomed with a welcome package with tea and supplies. It was a 245 year old cottage so it has a few “features” which I loved the most about the place. I loved the three story staircase which was very good cardio. I’d love to stay again wonderful ”

“The Snug was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also very clean. I could not work the shower but I did not contact the owner so I am sure it would have been sorted if I had. It was only three nights and there was a bath so I did not. It was well located, quite near to Matlock Bath. The bed was comfortable and it was well decorated throughout. ”

“We booked a superior double room, which is in theaon building. It was very tatty and in need of painting and updating. Very dated with a lack of plugs near the bed, none near the dressing table to plug in the hairdryer. One usb port. Dirty window dressings. A really old, dirty and damaged devine base. Breakfast was ok at best, not much choice and the mini chocolate muffins were dry or stale. The coffee was absolutely dreadful. The hash browns were oily and also not crisp because they had sweated……

“The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up……

“The reality of the property is not the one which it was advertised. The room is very small, no fridge . The worse British breakfast which I had in my life. Very poor quality if breakfast. No proper service , very poor services. It is not worth with the high price that was advertised .”
