“4th stay in 24 months. New reception staff not as friendly as Arran and Sarah. Very nice birthday celebration in the restaurant for my mum. Would choose a bedroom in the main hotel rather than the wing”

“Lovely inn along a beautiful river. Arrived late due to car troubles. Kitchen was closed and owner graciously offered to make something, which we very much appreciated. Volunteered to help with our tire issue but in the end rental car company sent some one. Would recommend to anyone.”

“The Art Bank is the perfect place to stay in Dalbeattie. It’s unique with its colourful rooms and selection of art. The breakfasts are incredible and Mandy/Ange make you feel welcome. Doggy friendly too. We look forward to our next visit.”

“The landlady was lovely. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we had was good too. The menu is very extensive and reasonably priced. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. The rooms were not clean, smelly and tired. The bathroom was not clean. We didn’t complain because we were staying with friends and they booked the accommodation. So we didn’t want to cause any upset for them. A mixed review really. We understand that the owners are new, so let’s hope that they do a good……

“This reservation was only partially completed. Left quietly. One small bedroom with a macerating toilet. Personal space minimal and expectations of hosts seemed family-like. Not a comfortable situation for me.”
