Overall, my stay was enjoyable, especially getting to sit at the windows, looking down on Main Street, and watching the Christmas parade without having to be in the crowd.
Several reviews commented on noise from the courthouse bell tower and traffic. Only once during my three-night stay was I awakened by anything. That happened to be emergency vehicles from the fire station around the corner. I went right back to sleep in the comfortable bed, though. Other reviewers have commented on the creaky floorboards. I found them to be reminiscent of my grandmother’s old farmhouse; not bothersome at all. I also couldn’t have asked for any warmer welcome from the property host.
The very minor critique of the property is not anything the property owner can control, which is parking at the door. Arrive before 7:30 PM and you’ll have to park behind the building, which means a further distance to carry your belongings in and up to the third floor (stairs, no elevator). This wasn’t a big deal for me but could be for others.
I will definitely consider staying at this location again.
