Great time

We had an amazing time and created such good memories! The staff is so nice and always willing to give ideas of things to do. Great family place. Only thing about this condo is the carpet. It’s a light colored carpet and does show the previous memories in the place. Great view and love the option of being able to eat outside. The key for us was the ability to cook when needed. We loved the pool and the beach. We will be back again

Sitting on the Gulf of Mexico with the beautiful water and soft sand. The living area was nicely furnished and well equipped. Our only concern is traffic, at certain times of the day you cannot get off the island, either north or south.

We were on a family vacation with 2 other couples and their rooms were beautiful..we stayed 7 days in 205 and it needs updating So bad! The carpet needs took up bc its nasty with stains and old smelling! I'm just stopping on that bc I could go on and on..I won't ever stay in 205 again Unless I get a invite saying it was updated

Very nice complex, great location, well equipped and functional unit

Sand Cay is a very nice community. The management company staff was terrific - very friendly and helpful. When something needed to be fixed it was taken care of quickly. The grounds are well tended, the beach is beautiful and a big plus is the many lounge chairs on the beach for guests. The pool area is nice and the two shuffle board courts were very fun. There is one well-maintained tennis court. Our unit was very well equipped - very functional. The bedrooms and bathrooms were on the small side and the unit could use a bit of updating but it was quite adequate for the 5 of us with the two bedrooms and a daybed in a corner of the living room. The location on Longboat Key was great. We could walk in either direction and get to a lovely park within 20 minutes. There are several good restaurants and a Publix market within a 5-10 minute drive. The Blue Dolphin Cafe (terrific for breakfast and lunch) was a 20 minute walk and there was an ice cream shop in the same complex.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The complex itself is very nice and kept very well. However, unit 205 is in need of some serious upgrade and attention to keeping things in working order. In addition, the dishwasher is a joke with the upper rack holding only a few glasses. More glasses should also be provided. Rugs were dirty. Couch was stained. Finally, use of the balcony was limited as the table and chairs were of normal height and as a result you couldn't see anything over the balconies walls.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has been going to Sandcay for over 20 years, its usually a big group of us and we always have the best time. Some of my best childhood memories have been made here, so to bring my own children back over the years has been really special. This condo has a great gulf and garden view, its close enough to the beach that the kids can come and go if they need to run to the apartment for a snack or something they forgot. Overall the rental is in good shape. It had more than enough sleeping space, my 4 kids, baby, husband and I had satisfactory sleeping space. They even had a playpen for baby to sleep in and a high chair which was so helpful. The only complaint I have about the unit, and it wasn't something I openly complained about and just dealt with, were the bathroom curtains. There was no way to keep them up, they fell in both bathrooms and any attempt to keep them up, once the shower was on, the humidity (even with the fan on) would make them slide right down. I'm sure if I had made the owners aware of this, they would have done something about it. Hopefully they can take care of this for future guests. I always take my own kitchen knife and a big pot since we are a big family and cook daily while there, but the rental unit has mostly everything you'd need. It did have a shortage of some cutlery, forks was it? I loved this unit and would definitely return and would absolutely recommend it! I can't wait to go back!

TV was smallest I've seen in a long time even though they're inexpensive these days. Next year we'll be asking your advice on switching to a unit better equipped.

Loved grilling after sunset while looking at the ocean. People and families were nice and cordial the entire time, and the front office is always available if you need anything. It is close to everything, without being in the midst of everything. We love it here and can't wait to book another week soon. Thank you for maintaining a great and affordable place for friends and families to experience the best the gulf side of Florida has to offer.

Beautiful quaint resort

Pros- Grounds of resort beautiful, staff great and welcoming. Sufficient beach chairs, umbrellas Condo- good space, location within the resort great with good view. A lot of beach toys there though there were dirty surgical masks in the bucket from previous renters. Beds comfortable though all headboards loose CONS Condo very outdated; carpet old and didn't feel clean Would not say there is a well stocked kitchen- there were literally 2 steak knives that hardly functioned as a steak knife. I am used to staying in places were things have passed down from previous renters- storage containers, spices, aluminum foil/plastic wrap etc- there wasn't any of that. There were dish sponges in there that were not new clearly. I was also a little disappointed that given pandemic, there is an actual sign that says things have not been sanitized. All in all- we loved our stay. For easter they had an easter hunt and water slides for the kids which was great. We would definitely return to the resort but opt for a different unit next time.

THY CLAIM THAT CONDO WAS RECENTLY UPGRADED BUT THEY FORGOT THE DIRTY CARPET. THEY CHARGE FOR CLEANING BUT THE CARPET WAS NOT SHAMPOOED. THAT MADE THE WHOLE CONDO SMELL AND FEEL DIRTY. ALSO, THEY USED RECLAIMED WATER FOR THE LAWN AND IT MADE INSIDE THE CONDO SMELL REAL STINK AT NIGHT.
