“The location was good for ease of getting on and off the highway. The building, room and parking lot were very clean, they have only been at that location for a year. The area is pretty rural. There is a McDonald’s nearby, a Dunkin’ Donuts and a Charlie’s for eating. And there are a couple of gas stations at that exit. The only negative, and it wasn’t a big deal was the number of parking spaces that can be seen from room windows is very limited. So if you’re the type that wants to keep an eye on……

Was told we would go to staff laundry room but they did not unlock it and when asked about it we were told not to worry it only gets windy and there’s never a tornado since she lived there. Tv in lobby was on but went off and they never put back on for us to follow weather. Lack of emergency management training. Just so happens tornado hit Merrillville that night, too close for comfort. “I had a very pleasant stay at Comfort Inn in Schererville. The owner is young and welcoming, and the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were all excellent. The hotel is clean and in a convenient location near restaurants and cafés. One area for improvement: the in-room safes in our rooms were not working, and the coffee machine was dripping hot water. Overall, a nice hotel, and I would definitely stay here again.”
