“We came for university open day so it was a flying visit The hotel And facilities were really great and varied. We didn’t realise so many good food options were available so we ate a quick rushed dinner near Durham station . Wish we had known about the dinner choices available at the hotel . Breakfast was really good with lots of choices. It was a shame we didn’t have time to enjoy everything on offer . Only problem for me was that the mattress was very old and saggy - this meant that I woke up……

“The room was clean and tidy, however when we stayed last year we had bottles of water in our room but this was not the case this time, I brought my own last year but didn't this year as I thought that bottles of water would be in our room. I also requested an extra pillow as the 2 pillows I had were flat, reception made a note of this but the pillow never arrived. Staff were all very welcoming, helpful and pleasant. “Having booked on Expedia a Double Deluxe was purchased however the person on reception wanted extra for a room and was told the only room available was a twin room being Room 6. It was not a nice room with sloping floor in the bedroom and bathroom. Rather disappointed as over the years I have colleagues who have stayed. Would return but would insist on getting the room I had purchased.”

“The accommodation is a small studio flat which was well furnished and comfortable. Unfortunately, when the windows opened the road noise is too great to leave open and the room very warm so for me, not comfortable due to being too hot and poor quality sleep. There is a fan but only blowing around warm air so not great. Breakfast was okay but some food not that fresh, some of the rolls were from the previous day and a bit hard and some food put out for the 6am opening and still there an hour or……

“disappointed that found out after I booked pool was closed. Plenty of parking & room was clean with plenty of tea & biscuits. Bed comfy but did not sleep well due to a high pitched noise outside that would have been less audible had the window closed a bit tighter.”
