“A spacious, well-appointed and well maintained guest house nestled in a serene setting. Comfortable furniture and bedding, and quiet nights and mornings completed the package. We found it to be conveniently located to the beach, downtown Carmel, local shops and restaurants, and of course Big Sur. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Well done S and W! “Very over priced for the cottage. To many notes on the walls of what not to do. This could have been put in a House Rule letter on the table. Outside front and back could use an on property maintenance person. Walkway leading to the door on arrival littered with tree debris. Back patio same. ”

Plus a beautiful fenced garden to enjoy coffee in the morning with your dog. Also, a perfect distance from downtown Carmel and Monterey for the aquarium. “The property was clean and, aside from the lack of a hot tub, matched its description. However, the original listing stated it had a hot tub, which was one of the reasons I booked it. After I arrived, the online description was changed, making it too late and too difficult to change locations—especially with nothing comparable available in the same price range. “Really a very special home and location that is very hard to find on the California coast anywhere. The views are truly stunning. That is not an understatement. Pictures are accurate and the house is simply furnished which the photos show. Not 5 stars nor should it be as it's more in keeping with the nature of this historic property. The beds are very comfortable which to me is super important. The beach is gorgeous , however it is NOT a swimming beach and in fact can be quite dangerous……
