Staff was really friendly and the yogurt and granola for breakfast was really delicious. We got a cottage which is really the way to go for a cozy private weekend. The location is the best you can find in Monterey if you want to get away from the tourist area and all the shops are pretty close.

We had a room in the main house this time, but I have stayed in the cottages prior. I prefer the cottages, but the room was nice, as well. The yogurt parfait in the morning was excellent. Great stay and walking distance to beach & parks.

It's really like a B&B with a really bare continental breakfast. The room are very small, bed was too soft. Location was just fine. For just one night, it was OK but probably would not stay for more than that.

The room was quaint, clean and the bed was comfy. The hotel is decorated beautifully. The grounds were nice, lovely plants, trees and flowers. Only met one staff member, Rene, he was professional, helpful and very accomodating. We loved our stay. Walked to the beach and had dinner at the Beach House. Had to leave before breakfast, so I can't commet on that. We'll be back.

Property has a lot of charm. Beautiful decor and staff were very friendly. However…We stayed in the room by the front door. Extremely loud, not only from the front door opening/closing but also from just simple talking next door and steps from above. Rest is hard to be achieved unless you have ear plugs. Carpets were dirty and bedding had stains on them on top of being old enough where they were not white anymore. For over $400 a night, there are better properties to choose from nearby.

Staff was very welcoming and nice upon check-in even got a glass of bubbly. Room was nice and spacious and clean. I am Not sure but I think there were no USB charging point as we used our adaptors. We did not have breakfast there tho.

Everything was just lovely until breakfast time. I arrived at 9:20 and there were 2 tiny pastries left. I only took one as I wanted to consider the next guest. Although a new shipment did arrive, the only additional items to come out were 12 mini banana nut muffins. I took 2. There were no yogurt parfaits, less than a cup of orange juice left and as I left some bagels had been put out, but the coffee was delicious. I did enjoy my good night’s sleep.

Our room was small but very quiet and comfortable. It is an old hotel, but that's ok. The continental breakfast was great, and having coffee available all day was nice as well as the free glass of wine in the evening. We loved sitting on the outside front porch enjoying the glass of wine. It was walkable to everything, including the beach. The staff was great - very helpful and knowledgeable!

Staff was very nice which is about the only redeeming quality. The bathroom reeked of sewage every once in a while. The towels you could tell were white at some point and have been used so much that they are turning light grey. The ironing board had blood or food stains all over it. The iron was covered in crust and calcified. I asked for a replacement and they gave me a steamer that had mold in it. Also they say “parking is provided” there’s 3 parking spots in front of the hotel to share between everyone staying. Obviously false advertising. I come to the area often and I will never stay in this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful building. Good location, lots of nice amenities. Good breakfast, surprisingly quiet on the main floor. Easy booking and check in. Staff member on duty when we were there could use a little reminder that friendliness goes a long way. Lovely property but could use a little attention to detail- blinds are worn, lots of dings and marks on the walls, generally looks overly lived in. No need for a big remodel or redecoration, just attention to the small things that detract from the overall experience. I would stay there again, just some feedback
