Lone Oak Lodge is convenient & very close by to many places I wanted to see —- Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, 17 Mile Drive, Pacific Grove, Carmel Mission Basilica Church. Only 5 to 15 minutes drive. Stayed here a couple of nights. Reasonable price for huge, clean room & accommodating staff, including the housekeeping. The smell of the room though is too clean! Ingredients of cleaning supplies might be a bit much for people with smell sensitivity. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed at the lodge just for one night and we highly recommend this place. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel seems to have had a recent upgrade and well maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean! And they offer parking, Very satisfied with our stay!

Very clean room, easy access to the room. Bathrooms remodeled and super clean. We particularly liked the hardwood over carpets. The only thing that would be nice is some kind of a water dispenser in the lobby, for those who bring their own reusable bottles.

I really wanted to like Lone Oak Lodge because we had such a great time in Monterey overall—but unfortunately, the stay here was disappointing. The biggest issue was the spa situation. The listing advertises an indoor spa, which gave us the impression it was available to guests. In reality, it’s only accessible if you pay extra for a private spa room—and those were mostly booked. We ended up paying additional just to use it for one night, which felt misleading and frustrating. Another issue was the water—it had a strange “soapy” feel that made showers uncomfortable. It didn’t feel clean, which is a big deal when you’re staying somewhere for multiple nights. The room itself was just okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing that justified the price either. There wasn’t even a tea kettle provided, which felt like a basic amenity that should be included. To be fair, the staff was decent and not the problem—but overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. For the price, I wish we had stayed at Best Western De Anza Inn instead, which offers a more accessible spa, includes breakfast, and is more affordable. Overall, pretty disappointing. Monterey was amazing—but this stay definitely wasn’t the highlight.

The newer shower floors are safer / less slippery than bathtubs & they have a grab bar too . The fridge is larger than most other places so the ice cube buckets actually fit into the freezer . I filled the ice, used it from the freezer & it lasted a couple of days instead of the normal couple of hours until it melts . The mattress was good . . . firm and comfortable . The heating unit worked well / quickly with no odd smells .

The room was excellent, the shower was perfect LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD the lighted mirror in the bathroom. For being a handicapped room, the bed should have been about 6 inches lower, it was difficult to get into at the current height.

I chose this hotel specifically because it advertised a hot tub and sauna across both its website and Expedia listing, including multiple photos. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was told by the front desk that both the hot tub and sauna have been closed for years. This was extremely disappointing, as those amenities were the main reason I booked this property over others in the area. This wasn’t a temporary issue or something out of the hotel’s control, it appears the listing has simply not been updated, which feels misleading. Aside from that, the stay itself was okay, but nothing standout. However, advertising amenities that don’t actually exist significantly impacts the overall experience and trust in the property. I would strongly recommend that the hotel update its listings immediately to accurately reflect what is and isn’t available so future guests can make informed decisions.

Stayed in the classic suite with 3 other people and a dog. The suites layout was kinda weird.. as soon as you enter the unit there’s the 2 queen beds with the seating area and fridge and microwave. Theres a room to the bed with the king size bed where the bathroom is and another smaller TV and fridge. Overall, good stay, clean, staff friendly, central location.
