I was unable to check in because my room hadn’t been marked as ready in the system, and I couldn’t contact anyone on WhatsApp or Expedia. I could only resolve the issue and check in after forty minutes when another guest had the same issue, but could contact the host via a competing provider (rhymes with “looking bot from”).”

“Shared canteen area is messy and not the cleanest. Shared bathroom upstairs has a shower which doesn't work. Television didn't work in my room (possibly the remote) - but it was very late and I couldn't be bothered chasing this up. I was awoken by very loud noises of arguing and fighting around 2.45am. I thought something serious was happening - but then realised the person in the next room had their television om at an unbearably loud volume. I obviously didn't want to knock their door and ask……
