Wildlife Retreat at Taronga

"We came from Perth to spend 4 nights at the Retreat. I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to stay for couples, groups or solo travellers. Every aspect is thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing; it makes great use of the natural surroundings and materials are eco-friendly. We enjoyed evenings in the lamp-lit lounge and on the wide balcony watching the big city across the harbour. The buffet breakfasts were generous and delicious; guests’ attention drifted off with the intoxicating panorama. I loved that we were always in a relationship with the zoo. We could come and go through the days and joined a night tour plus small group Sanctuary tour led by zoo staff & volunteers. We met lesbian geese, an overweight menopausal echidna, daughters of a lioness who chose brains over swagger, a capybara who snuck out of his enclosure to let loose on a kids’ playground…I am missing the koala brothers snoozing in the tree right outside our room. The staff are happy and so they are kind, generous with stories and information. This was a genuine retreat for my daughter and me; I feel calmer but also energised. You should go!"

"This was a great place to stay for a 3 night work trip. Has quite a large kitchen set up as well as a sizable desk and comfy lounge chair. They upgraded my mattress mid-stay which was good so they must be going through and doing this to all rooms. Had all the amenities I needed and was super close to Westfield for general shops and Chatswood Chase has a lot of food options that were fantastic - 2 minute walk to Westfield and 5 minute max walk to Chatswood Chase"

"The premises are in general great - although a tiny bit time worn. Parking is spectacular, especially given no extra charge. And SAFE. Staff are extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. Bathroom, though small, was clean not much, if any sign of mould. Big Plus. The bed very comfortable, the bedding adequate. The fridge was very clean and not iced up. Tea, coffee basics good. Only downside was that TwinT staff unable to provide or sell DAIRY FREE milk. The Guest kitchen was close by, clean and microwave in good condition. however there was warning (for a first time guest) that this was No (or Low) Frills situation, so whilst a microwave, fridge etc was available there was Zero cutlery or crockery that one could use - not even disposable implements. The room I had was great. The outlook from the balcony super! having v isited once and know the minor minus points, I will come visit DEFINITELY again and be better prepared. As mentioned, the front desk team are great. Facility good value for money."
