Island Pond Country Inn (Formerly the Lakefront Inn & Motel)

"Overall, this is just an ok place to stay to lay your head. Stayed late May for a family member's wedding. I had read the reviews about the hot water and the reply that they were making improvements to the boiler, so we chanced that the improvements were complete. The first shower was essentially unbearable with the water temperature. Second day shower seemed a little warmer and by the third day, it was good. I don't know what is going on there, but if you are looking to warm up with a hot shower, it's a crap shoot. The property has a gorgeous lakefront view, but otherwise, it is dated. Which is fine, but could be upgraded with nicer towels, and better soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The customer service was essentially zero. We were arriving after office closure and called to ask how to check in and none of the phone numbers we called answered. At check-out there was no one in the office. I called the number and got "hello". Just seems like, if you run a hotel, you would answer the phone with "XYZ Hotel". I know its a very small town, but maybe have a little more professionalism."

"John is a great host and super easy to communicate with. His cottage is perfect for me and my dog to explore the great outdoors in the Craftsbury-Greenboro area. The cottage is also very close to two great general stores, the Genny in Craftsbury and Willey’s in Greensboro. The cottage has all the amenities you need to stay as long as you want and also has a great yard just to hang outside and play with your dog."
