Booked 3 night stay, arrived to a property that looks to be in disrepair. Rubbish in the garden and overgrown.
Opened the door to the accommodation and was immediately floored by the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke.
10mins of being inside the property my clothes stank of cigarettes.
The property details clearly show ‘smoke free’
Whilst looking around I noticed what appears to be human ‘snot’ wiped up the wall under the TV.
I refused to stay, let the owner know, who apologised and immediately offered a full refund.
I left the property and was forced to book alternative accommodation.
I contacted hotels.com to arrange a refund, they repeatedly tried to contact the owner of the property over two days with no answer.
In turn they couldn’t offer me any refund. Due to no contact.
I feel let down by the property owner and both hotels.com
No attempt has been made to make things right with a financial reimbursement. No effort has been made what so ever.
I spent all week trying to sort this out and the only message I received from the owner was ‘it’s hotels.com that need to sort it out’
Without a doubt the whole process has been a shambles and I feel robbed.
