Large house but in need of some TLC
Very large spacious property suitable for a family.
We didn't hire a car for our visit and managed very well. The house is 25 minutes by taxi from the airport - we booked return travel via taxi which was very efficient.
The supermarket is a 15 minute walk from the house - don't follow google maps for walking, it takes you an impossible route that can't be followed.
The bus stop for Palermo is round the corner and very easy to reach and is cheap at 1.40 per journey
The restaurants in Mondello are good though a 25 minute walk from the property which didn't bother us but if you don't like walking a lot its wouldn't be a great property for you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, however some TLC is required to bring the house up to a good standard:
* only one pillow per person on the beds
* bedding looked like it had been bought from a charity shop
* no plug in the sink making it difficult to wash dishes
* crockery and cutlery all very mismatched and old
* we couldn't use the kettle, it was dangerous and had to be set in a certain way to make it boil. We ended up using the hob to boil water
* overall felt a little grubby and in need of a really good clean
* some brochures of things to do in the surrounding area would be good to help
