“The property is brilliant the castle is amazing. The owners are very friendy and encourage you to walk to grounds which is beautiful. Was very happy with our stay. The location is ideal 20 min drive to Edinburgh 30 min drive to coldstream/kelso to explore the boarders.”

“Just step away from the airport. Room is clean and the facilities are fit. Noise from plane is not at all. Room temperature is comfortable in the early winter. Great place to stay for early flight or late arrival.”

“Fantastic location with 11 acres, river in grounds and Abbey ruins next door. Had dinner in restaurant which was excellent as was breakfast the next day. Used as a stop off for one night from Aberdeenshire to the midlands and same price as well known hotel chains. An issue with bed on arrival but sorted out by receptionist promptly.”

“Lovely stay. Our room had previously been the old public bar, so was huge! Decor was a little tired and could do with a refresh (especially the bathroom - such a wasted opportunity not to put a bigger bath in there)! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious - such a treat to have kippers, being on a ban at home for them! Would recommend and definitely stay again!”

“An old fashioned hotel with a fabulous brealfast in the old dining room. Lots of open fires. Unforunately the hotel is built over several levels with lots of creaking stairs . You will need help with your lugguage and it was provided. Hotel can be a bit noisy with the pub across the road and nearby construction. Safety handrails would be useful for getting out of the shower/bath.”

“Beautiful well maintained gardens and golf course along with cleanliness, the castle architecture and interior was very unique. Something’s of concern were, there should be vents or exhaust fans in the toilets. Also, they close for dinner very early and because of this the bar gets too crowded for food and drinks. I wasn’t able to get my drink because of the long line. The food was very delicious and the portions were filling. I will definitely recommend this place and would come back for stay……
