“We enjoyed this beautiful historic home with all the updated amenities. We especially enjoyed watching a family of foxes out the kitchen window in the early mornings and evenings. The kitchen area was easy and spacious. If you can walk hills, you'll love walking to and from downtown Galena.”

“We absolutely love staying at the Bavarian Brew House. My kids enjoyed the basement activities, and it is so much better than staying in a hotel. One day it rained, and it was nice to have a house to go back to and hang out. We played games at night in the dining room and the amenities were great. It was also a great neighborhood to take my morning walks.”

One thing I didn’t understand from the listing is that the bottom floor of this home is empty currently. also didn’t understand that the bathroom would be in the hallway and not enclosed in the two room and sitting area suite. Place was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. You can walk to town in 12 minutes and we enjoyed our stay.”

It had everything we needed including the perfect location for a trip to the area state parks as well as some fun shopping in Dubuque. “Where to start… Our stay was fantastic, the home is clean and cozy, the backyard is enormous and well kept, and talk about a great host! Cheryl’s check-in documentation was thorough, and she was so helpful reaching out to make sure we were settled. Nestled in a tidy brick neighborhood, the home is easily accessible and located right in the middle of everything. “Quick response to our question when we got there. Quiet and peaceful, I never heard the barges go by. Easy to find. Short drive to town for groceries and to Maquoketa Cave State Park. Daughters thought their beds upstairs were a little hard (personal preference), but the one downstairs was very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Best set of skillets I have seen in a rental.”

“We had a wonderful time on our trip. There is so much to do and see in Galena. This house is perfectly located for walking everywhere. We enjoyed taking in the scenery and all the yummy food. We even got some Christmas shopping done. It is an older home as are most the homes in galena and we like the character and charm of older homes. It was nice not to have to park on the street. There were some dust bunnies and spiders, but overall was clean and had nice furniture. The tub and sink could use……

The house is perfectly located within walking distance of downtown restaurants, shops, etc. and there are plenty of beds and sleeping space. “The location was Great, GPS off a lil bit. There was a messy tree that our shoes dragged little buds in all the time. The key box was a little hard to open. The pool was not used because we couldn't figure out what or where to go. There are a lot of stairs. It is on three different floors. Missing was a home feeling. Little touches that make it feel personal. The beds were comfortable.”
