Panamá Beach Hotels

"Pool was full of trash and everything was broken. The "all inclusive" food and drink was 4-5 buffet items and 2L bottles of soda / beer (draft equipment was broken). I've never seen a resort serve beer out of 40oz bottles. Jacuzzi was cold, room was dirty, outdated and in disrepair. Dead tropical plants everywhere. This place is not taken care of... They charge the same as every place around but clearly don't invest anything in keeping the property clean / staffed / in usable condition. The view and the beach are nice, coincidentally the only things not really under their control. We left our two night stay after one night and stayed elsewhere down the beach. Hotel is refused a refund for the second night even though the place isn't busy. Avoid. "

"Stephen is an excellent host. He really wants his guests to have the best time possible. The property is very well kept. Our family of 8 was very comfortable. We had an excellent experience fishing with captain JC of evil panda fishing charters... Highly recommend! We had rented an 8 seat Hyundai Staria for our trip and we're able to park it in the private drive of the property. The resort is quite hilly so plan on taking shuttles. We would definitely visit again."

"Food was good and pools were fun. Met a lot of nice people. Difficult walking, lots of hills so not good for people that have trouble. Shuttles run all day till late at night and never had to wait long for one. They take you wherever you need to go from your door. "

"We had a lovely time at Papagayo Golden Palms! We were lucky enough to stay there at a time where it wasn’t very busy, maybe 20-35 people total, so we had our pick of pool loungers, restaurant tables and so on! Pure magic! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, the landscaping, the pool and the beachfront is wonderful. The rooms are a little dated but the bed was super comfortable and it had everything we needed. The beach has a few rocks here and there, nothing too bad, but water shoes are a good idea. When the tide is out, if you walk along the beach to the right, there’s a restaurant called Eco Camping Papagayo, it had a delicious burger. The hotel restaurant is wonderful, the food there is REALLY good, the included breakfast is also exceptional. The only note we had is that it is expensive. Cocktails are 15 USD, which for a Canadian ends up being more like $21, and a large bottle of water is $10 USD. So if you have most of your meals there, it really adds up. That is really the main reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. However, we recommend taking an uber into town (if you didn’t rent a car) and buying bottled water, snacks and alcohol there to bring back with you. Lastly - the staff, wow are they amazing, so kind, so personable, you really get to know all of them. Daniela was our concierge and she was so helpful and friendly at every step of our vacation. Sergio, Roland, Melanie and the rest of the restaurant staff made all the difference. We will be back!"

"We had a great stay at Villa Durazno. We were 3 couples and had so much extra room. The view at this property is GORGEOUS and we loved watching the sunset in the evenings. This was our first time in Costa Rica so having David near was so awesome! David helped us plan everything and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is high up on a hill so a vehicle or a driver is a must, but once you get down the hill, the beaches and restaurants are near. Thank you for having us! "

"WOW! We just spent two weeks in paradise. We lived on the patio - watching the sunset every night, enjoying the plunge pool and barbecue. The unit is as presented - easy to live in, clean, well-stocked with dishes and cooking items. Air conditioning and fans helped to keep things comfortable. The concierge service was fantastic - taking care of airport shuttles, car rentals and maintenance issues in a quick and efficient manner (muchas gracias Raquel!) The racoons and cats are very present, but we had no problems keeping them out. Be sure to listen for the howler monkeys. Stores are an easy walk to get too, and the resort's shuttle trucks help you get up the hill to the unit. The resort's restaurant and bar are nice and have fantastic views. The beach has tidal pools for exploring. All in all it was a great holiday for our group. "
