“We chose to spend a night here for our honeymoon. The hotel provides a very convenient—and free—shuttle service, which is incredibly thoughtful given that Varenna is a town nestled on a hillside. They can pick you up and drop off anytime from either the train station or the ferry pier !
The location is also perfect—right across from the church and just a short walk to the romantic lakeside path. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with warm hospitality and pleasantly surprised us with a room……

“My initial lower review was based on initial impression of the room and room only. The staff could not have been any better or more attentive. Some of the absolute best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Especially from Alice, Isabella, and Leonardo.
I responded to email from Expedia about first impressions. The management staff at Casa du Lac reached out to me for feedback. I met with Guest Experience Manager Alice to explain. She was extremely receptive to my issues with the room and……

“If you are traveling with a car, this hotel would be a great one for visiting Milan/Southern Switzerland. Everything is perfect, it looks like newly renovated with spacious rooms. We arrived the hotel very late, around 9:30pm, while the restaurant still opens and the quality of food is good. We will definitely visit again.”

“Great staff members who went above and beyond for us. Restaurant food was also good. However. There were a lot of mosquitoes and this disrupted our sleep so much. When we woke up, there was traces of bites on our bodies and it was an unsavory experience. Overall, it was okay but that made our stay a bit uncomfortable. Also, the breakfast was very bland with limited options.”
