「This is a great hotel to stay at while exploring the Forest of Dean. The rooms were quaint and clean, the breakfast was delicious and the pub downstairs was cute.」

「We stayed 2 nights, staff asked if we needed any cleaning or replacements in the morning. A full English breakfast was served each morning. We had an evening meal the one night with a good choice. This is an Inn so there's a bar which wasn't too noisy the nights we stayed. Friendly staff. We will book again as ideal for areas we wish to visit.」

「Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

「The food was nice, the staff were friendly however the hotel itself is on the main Hereford road and the noise all night was really loud and therefore we had 2 nights of unrest and no sleep. Unfortunately this would stop us going again」

The only issue (not their fault) they put me on the top floor and I struggle with stairs a lot as I’m disabled.. so, I booked a small single room but they have a huge room with a double and two singles great bathroom windows that open for air and the bed was great and the hot chocolate n biscuits. 「The exterior of the building is wonderful along with the grounds. The interior however is extremely run down and our first room We were given smelt damp and had to be moved to a better room but still then extremely basic and cleaning standard not great. Not helped also by the fact they only offer housekeeping every 3 days. Hotel with huge potential but not being looked after and requires urgent attention would not recommend anyone to stay there」
