Southern mansion: Eating/Drinking Nearby

1214 Decatur is a beautiful single-family, two-story, Italiante-style residence constructed ca. 1905, prior to the annexation by the City of Richmond in 1910. This 3,200 square foot beautiful house consists of two stories, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, washer/dryer, a fenced backyard with off-street parking, a covered two story walk out porch. Plus it is only a block from Hull Street and all the new businesses, restaurants, markets, cafés, and breweries. This house was just completely renovated from top to bottom and an interior design firm filled out the house with brand new furniture, artwork, kitchenwares, linens, etc.

  • In the heart of Richmond is a great coffee house and restaurant. The Urban Farmhouse has great breakfasts and very good espresso drinks (the large latte comes with 4 shots as it should). Wifi and plenty of tables to get comfortable with big windows providing a nice view of old Richmond. It's right across the street from La Grotta Ristorante a good Italian restaurant for later in the night. A definite stop when in Richmond Va.

Great stay, nice home, convenient location to our destination

Our host was very responsive, accommodating, and made sure we had everything needed for our stay. My crews travel a lot for work and it’s always refreshing when we arrive at a nice, well kept place and this was a proper home. They were also very responsive when I requested to extend our stay and made it work ASAP. Thank you for the fantastic house. I will definitely look into this again if/when working in the area again!

Our family of 8 adults and 2 grandchildren fit perfectly! The house and it’s renovations are definitely a diamond in the rough, relative to the neighborhood. Thank you for the spotless accommodations! We parked out front, wondering if the parking could ever be inside the fenced in backyard?

Wonderful home

We were a traveling family of five and spent two nights in the Southern Mansion. That wasn't enough; we loved this place. The furnishings were simple and yet inspiring and the home itself was so spacious. Each room seemed meticulously thought out, with little touches that just seemed right. You pick up your key and home instructions at a nearby coffee shop which could not be easier. The home itself is on an "evolving" street next door to an apartment building with its share of foot traffic but generally it was quiet during our stay. The floor plan is well laid out with all four bedrooms upstairs and a second hidden stairway towards the back of the house. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were supplied with plush towels and bath soap.The kitchen was well furnished with everything you could think of. We only cooked one night but were happy to find that all of our needs were met. All and all, a beautiful home that we were happy to have found.

Great, warm home

Friendly staff, wonderful house, and an all around excellent value for such a spacious and warm house. The only thing keeping it from a 5/5 is the neighborhood, but for our needs it was absolutely perfect. Being able to pick up the keys during such a wide range of time was very helpful as well. I would definitely stay there again.
