“It was a short staycation for my hubby’s bday. Over all everything was great. Except the sauna and steam room wasn’t working. There wasn’t any cocktails available by the pull side. And our couples massage wasn’t the best we’ve had. Aside those little things, everything else made his bday great.”

“Enjoyed my short stay. However the single room (this specific room) was small and was a little stuffy because of the lack of fans or AC. There was some noise above the room from the restaurant. Other than these my stay was great. Breakfast was lovely, the staff was very hospitable and the airport shuttle was so helpful. Really appreciate the care they put into the experience of my stay. I’ll recommend Velvet Suites again.”

“Staff was great Air conditioning was only in 1 room I booked a 2 bedroom apartment breakfast was very lack luster nothing to write home about needs improvement. The gym was a plus could be larger not much room to move around.”

“Overall, this was a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My one complaint was communication before my arrival. I emailed and would wait for a few days and needed to send a message via WhatsApp for a response. I had arranged a market tour and cooking class weeks on advance, but it felt like those running the cooking class were not prepared for the start time.”

“Ms.Asumta was very friendly and helped me with the formalities. The chief waiter and his team were carrying all the time and presented a wonderful Tilapia for dinner. Don't trust some bad reviews about this place,now they are under new management ”

“So yes this was 100% a white lotus type experience. That said. The service was impeccable. We went to kinigi for gorilla trekking and Sambora coordinated every detail beyond the permits. They did everything from finding the right outerwear to finding us a great driver. Meals were delicious. We sat every night at a long table with other guests which was fun - we were traveling as a couple so was nice to mix it up. But yes. White lotus. Just be prepared.”

The rooms are spacious, modern, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. We also had the opportunity to try all three buffet services - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and each offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options. “Our stay at Grotta Resort was very comfortable and the staff were amazing. It’s very convenient if you want to do Gorilla trekking. We were picked up and dropped off at Kigali by the resort, our driver Enock really looked after us and made sure we arrived at our destinations.”
