"We booked for one night at Grinkel park and really enjoyed our stay. The building is set in lovely grounds that are well maintained. The interior of the hotel has an old fashioned but charming vibe. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and lots of places to sit in comfy chairs if you just want to relax with a drink or a coffee. The room was basic but clean- the tv very small!! and the bed very soft. We had some bar food which was good and reasonably priced. There were quite a few guests staying who were in repeat visits and I understand why. The staff are all super friendly and take time to talk to people and help. I would definitely recommend for value."

"On arrival we did have a parking spot outside the property and we do have a blue badge enabling us to leave car there, parking permit also available for top car park. My advice drive down offload and then park car! This property is in a prime position of village!Property spacious and great for the infirm. Spacious bedrooms that are all quaintly decorated.Comfy chairs in living room with a very well equipped small kitchen. There are plenty of lovely places to eat so apart from brews we didn’t use it but did have a full sized fridge freezer if you prefer to bring your own.Wet room style bathroom beautifully set out. Welcome file very informative for how to use equipment in cottage to ideas for exploring the village and further a field.Hosts were fantastic as did have an issue with the telly and even though I emailed them Saturday night they replied straight away and we got it sorted.Overall fabulous stay, everyone we met was friendly! The beach is dog friendly, only small but idillic, can sit outside the pub with a drink and look out over the bay! Don’t forget to visit the museum less than a minute walk from cottage! We will definitely return!!"

Brockley Hall Hotel

Brockley Hall Hotel

8/10 Good
"The decor is over the top kitch with lots of black, purple and silver so it won't be to everyone's taste. The larger rooms in the old part of the property are poorly lit and have free standing baths which take up loads of space while the actual bathroom is cramped but they have plenty of seating and big windows. I also like that the beds are low rather than the high ones that have become the fashion. The food is really good, both at breakfast and at dinner and the staff are friendly and helpful. They tend to have intrusive and unneccessary music playing which is a shame but it's the same almost everywhere one goes"
