It was a great location right off of Mission Beach, with great access to restaurants, bars, and everything else San Diego has to offer. The home was clean and nice. Absolutely no complaints!

Group of friends that meet annually. Consensus was that this was one of the best properties. Clean, well stocked, great location, garage, easy manager to work with. Lots of stairs, but that is how you get the killer view from the rooftop.

We had a great time at this location. Close to everything and steps from the beach. Great for our teenagers to hit the beach whenever they wanted. The top deck view was the highlight!

Beach, Rooftop, Fireworks! This place has it ALL!

Our stay was awesome! Roof top deck can see the beach and miles of ocean! You can also see Sea World fireworks on nights they have them. Very calm part of the beach. Plenty of space even on the weekend! Great spot! I would recommend to anyone!

Beach Getaway

This is the perfect location for a relaxing beach vacation. The property was clean and the rooftop balcony allowed for amazing views of ocean sunsets. The variety of restaurants and activities in Belmont Park means that everything you need is within walking distance. We also appreciated the garage space since parking in the area is difficult to find.

What a great place! Location Location Location

We escaped the heat for a few days and found the perfect spot. Location was perfect. The top deck was incredible, day and night. We biked everywhere. Never moved our vehicle all weekend! The place was super comfortable and clean. The multiple levels make it a great spot if you want to spread out. We will ge back!

Nice house

This is a nice house and the management company is very proactive. The only downside for us was that the neighborhood is very loud and there is no AC so if you close the windows to block out the noise so you can sleep it gets very hot.

Great place

This is a large 3-floor place steps from the beach. You get a parking garage, I believe 3 rooms with the master suite being pretty large. The second and third floor has belcanies with tables and chairs so you can enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee while listening to the waves crashing. The only downside is you don’t have a view of the ocean until you go up to the roof top. I found the rough top to be the best area to enjoy the views and soak up the sun if you don’t want to be at the beach. A lot of these rental companies down allow you to smoke on their property, but you can walk along the board walk where no one cares.

From the rooftop deck you can see both the ocean and the bay! There is a coffee shop, two markets, three "restaurants" and two bars less than a block away. Easy walking distance to Belmont Park. (my three year old made it easily). The house itself: beautiful! bedrooms are nice! lots of space! Kitchen is functional. Why I am not giving 5 stars, the kitchen didn't have any extras, no spices/seasoning there was a keurig on the counter so I went a bought k-cups from the market (for $14) and then the keurig didn't work. I emailed the rental agency about the keurig and didn't even get a response. Another negative, I have stayed at other beach rentals and the house had sand chairs, toys, bikes, body boards etc. this house had NOTHING! Not one beach accessory! The only other comment I have, is that it is 4 flights of stairs. I didn't mind it, but my friend did have physical issues climbing the 4 flights day in and out and was limited to his access to the house because of that. In combo with that comment, the bunk beds are on the first floor and it was unnerving to leave my sleeping children on the first floor and be on the 4th, (next time I would bring a baby monitor). We had a wonderful time! two of the neighbors live there full time and they were wonderful to chat with. Other renters around were friendly.

Rented over the Thanksgiving holiday to share with friends. The kitchen is well appointed. Able to cook a thanksgiving meal for 7 - they even left us some foil pans and other goodies. The location was great and view from the roof terrace fantastic. Had a few issues with the unit (hot water heater and furnace) but the management company was Johnny-on-the-Spot with text and telephone communication. Stuff happens and we were able to get issues corrected pretty rapidly all during the holiday, so no knock down in rating from me.

Very comfortable clean house as was stated "steps from the beach" This house lived up to the description given. We weren't without a thing. I loved the kitchen and all it had to offer when time to cook. All the windows provided a wonderful ocean breeze when needed. Loved the rooftop deck during our morning coffee and at sunset time. We had a beautiful 6 days there and would not hesitate to return. Thank you for sharing your house with us!!

Overjoyed with this vacation find!

We took our family to the Sand and Surf home in Mission Bay/Beach - and we could not have asked for more. The house was steps from the beach and also a perfect little coffee shop where we started each morning with delicious coffee, breakfast sandwiches and acai bowls (my daughter's favorite!). First, I can't recommend Bluewater Vacation Homes highly enough. They were extremely easy to work with and attentive to our needs when we had a few minor issues in the home. You can tell they take pride in the homes they manage and guest satisfaction is their #1 priority. As for the home - having been disappointed by "glam" pictures on the internet when booking hotels, etc. in the past - I was prepared for the house to be a little less than what the pictures for Sand and Surf looked like. But NOT with Bluewater! The house was just as described and the pictures were true to life. Also, it didn't stop there - the cupboards are all stocked with matching dishes, glassware, bar-ware, sliverware, etc. making stay that much more comfortable. The house was clean and felt bright and fresh. We used a couple of recommended vendors on their site which offered discounts to Bluewater guests. We especially liked Radd Rentals who were flexible with us dependent on the weather and delivered bikes to our rental for a day of fun for the whole family. What a perk it is to have these places researched and discounted for guests. On the downside (in case you think I'm a "plant" due to my glowing review): don't expect an early check-in. They have a tight cleaning schedule and if the house is rented the week prior to your rental - they take the full time to get the house ready for you. This was a bit of a bummer for us because we had been traveling from MN since 5 a.m. that day and hoped to at least get in the house an hour or two before 4 p.m. And, while they told us it could be a possibility, the cleaning person literally pulled away from the house at 4 p.m. (we know because we were sitting in our rental car waiting - there is only so much driving around you can do after a long day of travel). As my husband and I took our last walk on the beach - he asked me if I would stay at the Sand and Surf again. I did not hesitate with my 'yes' answer! He said he would definitely use Bluewater again but might try a house right on the boardwalk. Not me - I would stay here again in a heartbeat - I loved the location and the amenities of the home itself.

Our family of 8, all comfortably stayed at this Mission Beach gem. Both adults and children had a great time, the place was clean and in a perfect location, steps from the beach. We had such a great time that we plan on going back.
