"My daughter and I loved this choice for a hotel. We didn’t know anything about it but the price fit what we were looking for in the area we were hoping for. The reviews we read are all accurate to our experience. It was the ideal location and the room we had was quiet. The space was small but super functional and fit two of us perfectly. The cafe downstairs is a delight and you get a free coffee daily. We will definitely be back and we’re so sad to leave!"

Motel 6 Santa Barbara, CA - Beach

"Motel 6 gets the thumbs up for being half a block from the beach. Walking down to the beach each morning to do some exercises was pretty magical. (This is not the motel's fault, but be aware that all the beaches in the area have a good amount of tar. It is natural tar. It is messy!) Part of the reason I'm giving this motel 4 instead of 3 stars, is that I appreciated that it was nicely kept. Very clean and helpful staff. Much cleaner and fresher feeling than most travelodges. But I think you must have ear plugs. I could hear people through walls and through the ceiling above me. On my last night it seemed like people had checked out so I got my first good night's sleep. The air conditioning was occasionally loud, though I did get used to that. The side of the bed I would normally sleep on was lumpy. So I moved to the middle. That was fine. I was lucky enough to be able to have my own room so I had plenty of storage. I think it would be more difficult for two people. They were kind of stingy with towels supplied in the room, though if you wanted more, they brought them with no problem. I don't know if any of the rooms have microwaves, but mine did not. Did not care for the creamer for the coffee in the lobby in the morning. They offer either powder or flavored syrupy stuff. Offered easy to use dish TV. Pleasant to sit by the pool at night but did not swim in it. I heard it was unheated."
