There were hardly any other guests when we stayed, and it was almost like having a private resort.The restaurant staff made us two lovely dinners and breakfasts, the first dinner was an intricate kaiseki spread, and the second was delicious grilled steak. "The hotel is old but historic. The rooms were ample and very comfortable. The staff was super nice and went out of our way to help us feel welcome. The location is perfect, very close to the temples and at a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Also walkable in half an hour or less. Breakfast was very good. I would have stayed one night longer to be honest."
