“What a wonderful stay for our family. The space was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The property was conveniently located near many attractions but far enough out of town to allow us to see the northern lights almost every night. The kitchen was well appointed. The main living area was spacious and bright. The saunas were a huge bonus and something we used almost everyday. Thorsteinn was a great host. They answered our questions promptly. “The place was clean and in a good location for seeing some popular destinations. It has a beautiful ocean view from the top level. A few things we didn’t like were no microwave paired with a very small kitchen/oven. The stairs to get to the main seating level, kitchen and one bedroom were awful. Steep and not a traditional staircase. You had to step wide to have footing. If you’re not in shape or good health this could be an issue.”

“This was our first trip to Iceland, and our stay at Smalaskali was perfect! Location was great - far enough away to feel secluded, but close to Selfoss for shopping and dining, and close enough to make for a great base camp for excursions to the Golden Circle, Reykjavik, and a South Coast exploring drive. Cottage was well equipped, and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring.Laundry facilities were welcomed - note that it is a washer and not a washer/dryer combo, but……
