“This was our first trip to Iceland, and our stay at Smalaskali was perfect! Location was great - far enough away to feel secluded, but close to Selfoss for shopping and dining, and close enough to make for a great base camp for excursions to the Golden Circle, Reykjavik, and a South Coast exploring drive. Cottage was well equipped, and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring.Laundry facilities were welcomed - note that it is a washer and not a washer/dryer combo, but……

“Das Haus ist einfach super! Die Lage am See traumhaft. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, es ist alles vorhanden, um sich komplett wohlzufühlen. Besonderes Highlight ist natürlich der Hot Tub auf der Terrasse. Die Gastgeberin Renate ist super nett, und es hat von Anfang bis Ende, alles sehr gut geklappt. Absolute Weiterempfehlung! ”

“It was a perfect place to jump off of for activities on the South Coast, Reykjanes Peninsula, Golden Circle, Vik, Reykjavik and Keflavik. It was a roomy and comfortable home. The kitchen is a bit small for multiple people to be cooking at the same time, but that wasn't a problem.”

“Hrafn was an excellent host. His responses were quick. He was very accommodating. The cottage is perfect. Comfy beds, pillows and sofa. We love the kitchen. It is very well stocked. The magic was the hot tub amd sauna, which were so relaxing. We listened to the birds and watched them with delight. We would highly recommend this cottage and we would definitely stay here again.”
