"We booked a family room for four people, but we were just told it's full. Then hotel offering us two twin rooms instead."

"The accommodation stayed in was not as advertised, we hoped it would have been a place that was suitable for a night, but it just created worry and discomfort the entire time staying there. The first room we were presented with was not at all as expected, the walls were stained with marks and water stains. The bathroom was dirty and unacceptable. The bed covers and curtains were stained and window sill covered in mould. Having asthma I was not comfortable staying in this room. I rang to reception and requested another room and told them it wasn’t at all how it was advertised, which the receptionist didn’t understand why. They provided us with a second room which was larger and slightly better than the first but still not good enough. Stained walls, mouldy curtains and window cills. However due to being exhausted from travels, we decided to just try and sleep for the long day ahead the next day. Both myself and partner were unable to get any sleep as the bed was terribly uncomfortable, we could feel the spring badly through the mattress. I have attached some images for you to see for yourself. This is completely unacceptable even with it being a cheap stay. The images need reviewing and updated on your site as the public should know what their money is buying them. We complained to hotels.com and they were very unhelpful. The hotel told them it was all fine so wouldn’t help us. Not impressed. Do not say here or book through hotels.com. Not even worth it for a night."

"This would probably have been a totally fine stay except there was about 50 members of the same family staying there, maybe 75, and their kids were marauding round the hotel leaving trash, upturned chairs, broken glasses etc all over the place. The bar was a no go area because they'd taken over, so loud. Not enough staff to police the bad behavior or clean up and the parents were doing nothing. Pool was absolutely rammed and not a place my kids wanted to hang out - tiny and busy, despite booking a slot. No fridge in the room! Wouldn't stay again."

"Although the message said someone would be there to greet me, I wasn't sure who, so followed the instructions for the key collection with no problem. Room very spacious, but could do with a socket near the bed and blackout curtains with the bright light in the back. Tried to watch TV, but there were no channels, but was able to watch iPlayer etc instead. The instructions about leaving were a bit confusing. I tried the key safe outside the room, but it didn't open, so I assumed the message meant leave the key in the room, which I did. Later on I did wonder whether I should've put it in the key safe where I actually picked it up from. Apologies for rushing out and forgetting to take down my bowl and wash it up."

"Very friendly and helpful house manager who set up TV in another room given my room was taken Lucky he was there and door was open on arrival however as otherwise would have been tragic as no idea how I would have got in and my room had been double booked with clients already in and if any issues, no idea where he is to get hold of which was the case later as I had no towels so was leant one from another room. Luckily another room was available so I had somewhere to stay on arriving!! Could have all gone so badly! Advertisement also suggests I had a bath hence why i booked it but no bath available!! The place was very clean and very comfortable bed and pillows so slept well. I was lucky with other things!! The review would have been appalling otherwise. Also please use white bedding rather than random duvet sheets...looks more professional. Plus paint the small areas of wall white that have been stained or paint fallen off "

"The property itself was spotless. I didn't see a speck of dust. It is obviously cleaned pretty much daily. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was good. The kitchen was clean and had everything you needed. I would add some baking trays and oven gloves but apart from that it was great! The bedroom was clean and tidy. The windows had all been opened beforehand to air out the house. Towels were provided for each person which was handy as my girls forgot theirs. The beds were quite hard but everyone has their own preference. We shared the house with 2 ladies the first night who were really quiet. The second set of guests were much noisier; banging cupboards and doors early in the morning, but that isn't down to the host. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. The only thing I would improve is the communication. We drove 4hrs and despite messaging and calling a couple of times it took a long time to get the code for the key safe. "
