「Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast.」

「We were less happy with the room on this occasion, dark sombre furniture, a dusty desk and no view. There was a spacious modernized bath & shower room however. There is a lift for rooms at the front and some stairs for rooms at the back so an odd mix of different levels. Splendid parkland very well maintained. We enjoyed the "Greek night" and the breakfast was equally good so happy with the food and service.」

「Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. 「I am going to celebrate my husband's wedding. The hotel is cosy and unique, it has a nice restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast during our stay, and a small library bar where you can chill with friends. The room is spacious and warm, we love this hotel.」

「We had a lovely 2 day break at the Park Head Hotel. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and top quality. Our dog, Tilly was well looked after too. Barnard castle and the surrounding area are beautiful with some great walks along the river.」

「The entrance to check in was not obvious from the outside when we arrived and the hotel is isolated in its location. However, staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.」

「Great hotel with lots of activities for the kids. Gym was huge with lots of equipment and classes. We had a family suite which was huge with separate bedrooms for kids and adults. Only small let downs were the shower pressure being terrible, hotel was super hot even though it wasn’t a warm day, but the did provide us with fans. Breakfast had a great selection but gluten free options ran out quickly and weren’t replaced.」
