"The building and area were beautiful. I believe the hotel was understaffed. Staff members tried to be friendly and welcoming but you could tell they were spread too thin. Especially at breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7 but we were informed it’s best for us to wait until 8 because they had tour buses in. Also noted in listing that if you are staying in the rooms that you are guaranteed a table for dinner. Both nights we stayed there there was a sign on the desk stating that there were no tables available unless you booked dinner ahead. Staff informed us it was because of the large amount of tour buses. I understand that large groups are how this hotel makes its money but I feel they cater to the tour groups and the average single family may get pushed aside. I’m not sure I would stay again. "

"Food was a big pass for me. If you book, don’t stay in rooms 12-20. There is some kind of wind tunnel on that hallway. Every time a door opened, our door rattled. From 730-930 pm it was a continuous rattle from a group coming in! We tried to stuff paper around the door to secure it, but no success. Hotel is really more like a pit stop for backpacking groups than anything. Good for a hot shower and ( hopefully) a good nights sleep "

"Steps away from the train station made it ideal for us! The staff were very accommodating. The hotel is like a warm Scottish hug. Do enjoy the “Tea for Two” and enjoy the lovely and Royal libby."

"The best part of the hotel was the location - you are steps away from multiple restaurants and pubs. Easy access to local sites and within walking distance to the train station. The staff was very kind and helpful too. The lights in the hallway went on as you walked, which was good for saving electricity, but it felt kind of dark though."
