“I only have one small complaint about our stay at Dancing Bear Lodge - the mattress needs replacing (it felt like falling in a hole). Everything else was wonderful - clean, comfortable, welcoming, attractive. Loved welcome basket and lots of towels. Setting is lovely and nice comp'd breakfast at Apple Valley Cafe. Would gladly stay here again.”

“The Tapoco Lodge is absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. The cabin we stayed in felt like everything was antique but somehow still new. My only complaint was that Expedia allowed me to book it as a pet-friendly room when the actual room I chose wasn’t pet-friendly. The Tapoco honored the reservation anyway and took care of us. They were terrific. My wife is already asking if we can stay here again. ”

“Great place to recover and relax after a day have hiking or out on the river. The amenities were above what was expected with ready available grills, fire pits and relaxing atmosphere of rocking chairs on the front porch.”

“A great house on the quieter side of the the smoky mountains park area. Plenty of space for 12 (6 adults + 6 kids). The host was close by and offered good suggestions.”

“My family and I came to the area for a weekend getaway to take our son to ride the Polar Express in Bryson City and stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights… and I could say the stay was definitely not long enough! It was a beautiful and quaint little lodge that was tucked away in the wilderness!! I had a mix up on my days and was able to call the owner directly to correct my mistake and he was so helpful and took care of it right away even though I booked through VRBO. Met him the 2nd night we were……

“So quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed mornings with coffee on the porch and evenings by the fire pit with other guests. My wife and I have already promised ourselves that we will be visiting there again. Many thanks to our host, Shane.”

“Cute and clean little cabin feel. We loved having the comforts of a place to land after a day of adventures. We appreciated the mini kitchenette for having some meals in and the outdoor amenities were amazing. We cooked some wonderful food on the Blackstone grill, and enjoyed the fire pit on the evening it wasn't raining. Lots of great conversations and company. The owner is very hospitable and there are lots of nice thoughtful touches through out. Don't miss out on this one. We hope to stay……

“I can see why they will not refund your money. The rooms are very small and the floors creak terrible. They even know this by the sign walking in asking you to walk softly. Walls are paper thin and you can hear others talking. I feel like my money was stolen. From the conversation I heard from other guests while looking at the room we are not the only ones disappointed with the room. I might be wasting my time writing all this since Heather from the property management was deaf to any complaints……
