"Check-in was perfunctory and lacking in warmth. My husband and I were also very disappointed to be told that the pool and spa closed at 7pm. After a long drive, we arrived at 6:45pm intending to relax in the spa before retiring. We understand that the spa was open until 8pm (on the pool board, it did say it closed at 8pm). 7pm is early for a spa to close and it doesn't open for an early morning swim either; we felt cheated. The hotel is on a cliff, so has lots of steps, which we had overlooked. At late notice a room without steps was kindly made available. The ensuite studio room was pleasant, comfortable and well equipped but sounds from the surrounding rooms could be heard. The room and equipment were mostly clean. A wooden spoon and PVC apron would be good additions. Ideally, we would prefer an 11am checkout, as 10am is a bit of a rush, especially with self-catering. Visually the spa lacked lustre but it was true to the photographs; a few plants would improve the general ambience and relaxation. The pool and jacuzzi were good, the sauna was rather small and steam room wasn't really steamy. The pool, sauna and steam room were clean but the poolside was a little dirty with leaves and debris in the seating area. We didn't use the restaurant, gym or games room but the communal herb pots and beach toys were a lovely touch. We enjoyed a few chives. Overall, if the price was right, I would be happy to return with the family, this time knowing the country clubs shortfalls."

"Beautiful hotel in a lovely location, nothing negative really VIEWS next to a national trust venue View out of the bedroom overlooked the NT see images BAR But if you like to relax in the bar in the evening, they close the bar around 9.30, which could be an issue. My partner and i, bought a bottle of wine with us and sat outside until it got too cold and we retired to our room. FOOD For this reason we dod not eat our evening mael at the hotel, however we had breakfast and that was superb, quality ingredients all the way, which made us realise we had eaten elsewhere and the food in the evening would have been much better at the hotel All in all a fantastic stay PARKING Car park is small so parking is tight if you are arriving later, we arrived around 7pm and only just got into the car park,while people are just eating there or in the pub area. Just something to be aware of"

"We had a lovely stay at Sunny Cottage, which is beautifully presented, very comfortable and equipped to a high standard. The location is excellent for exploring North Norfolk, and we particularly appreciated how genuinely dog-friendly the cottage is. The secure garden was fantastic for the dogs, and the treats and lovely box of quality dog toys were such thoughtful touches from the owner. We did find the Aga difficult to get use, and the lack of a freezer was inconvenient, so we ended up eating out more than we had planned. Parking and access were also a little challenging, as there is no parking at the cottage and we had to unload on a busy road before using the village car park. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Sunny Cottage has lots of character and thoughtful touches."

"Excellent location and ideal for a quiet, peaceful getaway. However, there were a few faults with the property - a number of blinds didn't work, a tile in the kitchen was broken, a large pane of glass was broken with shards of glass on the ground and the overall cleanliness of the property wasn't great. A few improvements would make this a great place to stay."
