The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. 「I stayed here one night on my way down to the Lake District. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent as was service. (I particularly appreciated that they had gluten free bread available in the morning.) The room was very clean and charming with french doors opening to a private deck. 「Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel 」

「I was worried about parking before I came-but it was fine. The 'disc' people talk about is just a clock. Overnight parking is free, on the the street parking bays, and you can set the clock in the evening so that you get a couple of free hours in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options. Hotel restaurant, and bar atmosphere was buzzing! Our room overlooking the park was beautiful-only complaint was there wasn't a place with a power point and mirror where you could sit and do...

「Staff and food excellent. Booked a Superior Double room at £172, unfortunately we got a family room with a single bed and what looked like a Queen bed. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and a light hanging out, bare wires above the bedroom mirror, heating was not on and we came back to a cold room, had to get the staff to sort the heating out, and although there is tea and coffee in the room with a kettle, there was no milk provided and so we could not make a cuppa in the morning.」
