There is so much to keep you entertained at the house but if you venture out, you can walk/snowshoe into downtown Truckee!! We even provide some snowshoes!! There are many sleds at the house for your use and a great sledding hill out the back of the house. As for skiing, we are 15-20 minutes to Squaw, Alpine, NorthStar and Sugarbowl. Also we are near the small but great downhill ski resort at Tahoe Donner. Tahoe Donner also has an amazing cross country ski resort.

Downtown Truckee, for those not familiar, is a wonderful, historic downtown that has many fine and casual restaurants, shopping , wine tasting, crafts and just a fun place to stroll around. The Truckee area has tons of hiking and biking trails, many of which you can access right out of our house. We even have some bikes for your use.

The home is a 5-10 minute drive to Donner Lake where you can rent boat and paddle board or enjoy the free public piers. There are many swimming and fishing holes along the Truckee River about 10 minutes from the house. Another 10 minutes up river, near Tahoe City, rafts can be rented to float down the river in the summer.
