Unique apartment in historic downtown

This special place is close to everything making it easy to plan your visit to downtown Vandalia. Abe’s Apartment offers a bedroom, full kitchen and bath, dining room, living room with a pull out sofa, and remote work space. This 2nd floor loft also offers beautiful views of the oldest State Capitol in IL and is within walking distance to over 7 restaurants, bars, and various local shops. We are located just two miles off of I-70, a little over a hour away from St. Louis, MO and 30 minutes from Effingham, IL. This loft is located on the second floor so you will need to climb 1 flight of stairs to enter and exit this space.

The host was wonderful, the place was as pictured, very clean. I had everything I needed. It was well furnished. I only have one issue, but I realize it is out of the control of the owner. There is a bar behind the apartment and the music was quite loud preventing me from sleeping. Again, this is not the owner's fault, but something I would like to know. I would recommend this place as it was clean, nice, well furnished. Great location. Little restaurants in walking distance.

This was an excellent stay. Host is 5 star. Communication was great, as was the apartment. Very clean and all the essentials. Two things to note if you stay here: the stairs are on the steep side, and the air conditioner is in the bedroom. Our stay was in very hot weather and it cycled on and off often. If you are a light sleeper you should plan accordingly with some earplugs.

This was our second stay here. We booked the second floor apartment and we loved it. Haley is easy to communicate with and answers quickly. We're impressed with the cleanliness, and the A/C was nice and cold, which helped in the 95 heat. I'm sure we'll be back!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay in Vandalia! Haley was a wonderful host, very friendly and accommodating! We were centrally located to all the nice shops and restaurants and right across the street was the historic old state capital, which is a must see. The people in Vandalia were all very friendly and we had a wonderful time!
