“Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. No bar or breakfast while we were there but we would go to the glass house for brunch and that was great. The exterior of the building needs to be invested in to improve the look of the building”

“We knowingly booked a small room. The room itself was clean and decent enough. It was an extremely hot day so could have done with A/C or at least a better fan than that provided. The bathroom was too tiny to be practical. There was no shelf in the tiny shower and there was not enough room to bend down and pick shower gel off the floor. Overall the price was very reasonable so we were not expecting the world. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.”

“Very spacious room, clean and comfortable. Need a shelf of some kind in shower for shower gel etc, made showering a bit tricky. Could also do with fans in room when hot weather. Building looking a bit tired but super location and clean. Would definitely stay again. Fridge in room was a bonus in the hot weather.”

“- Room not that clean, baby found loads of hairs and things. - post-booking I got loads of repetitive spam messages to check in online days before arrival. - Facilities have restricted use, e.g. no children at pool 10am-6pm! The only reason we stayed there was so the wife can rest at the pool with the baby. - Restaurant food was pub quality but Michelin price. - "Entry" to breakfast ends at 9:30 not 10 as advertised. “We stayed in a family room which was clean and close to the beach, with some restaurants around. There is no USB socket in the room so need to bring your own sockets to charge your phones and devices. Pillows are too soft. Breakfast was included, with cold and cooked buffet for selection.”

“We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia……
