Depoe Bay Whale Watching Center Hotels

"Unit #5 is in an older building (1940s, with a severely uneven floor in the kitchen area--like walking on a ship) and is a 1 bedroom with a living/dining/kitchenette and a slider to a grassy area overlooking the ocean. Nice firm bed. Complimentary continental breakfast, which we skipped for other plans; in-room coffee, which we did not skip). Baseboard/wall heaters. The unit had some maintenance/housekeeping issues (which we notified the management on our departure): severely leaking kitchenette faucet; dirty window sills/tracks and slider track. Slider lock does not work (piece of wood in slider track holds it closed). Some missing window/slider screens, and some of the window latches don't work/open. Funky wi-fi situation (Windows laptop could not connect; iPhone could). Property is within walking distance of the best restaurant in town (Tidal Raves, and you better have reservations on a Friday night!). Just a short walk away from a public-access viewing area on the ocean bluff and just north of the center of Depoe Bay. Just a great location. Could be world-class with some attention to details--the price would warrant that attention. "

"We loved this property! Short walk to restaurants and shops. Great view!! Some traffic noise when you are outside, totally reasonable, and it wasn't bothersome inside at all. Would totally stay there again!!"

"Since In have stayer here before, I'm comparing to what was and is now 1. Check in desk said I could't earn Wyndam points for my stay. 2. Pictures show bathroom vanity much larger, that is not the case it has been reduced in size 3. Shower head was replaced with a hand held which came unconnected and I got a "shower" outside the tub. 4. No more breakfasts treats - just coffee. 5. there was no clock in the room, with the phone across the room from the desk. 6. Coffee maker in the room was for a single cup, not even a 4 cupper. 7. The beds sat on metal platforms?? Rather noisy. 8. The refrigerator is only a refrigerator - no freezer. I was disappointed in Wyndam taking this place on - it needs more care and a lot more customer amenties. PS The towels were white and fluffy"

"We had to wait over 2 hours after the 4oclock check in time for the manager to open the office. He comped a night for our trouble. The building is old and dog eared. The room was not overly clean, but we lived with it."

"Such a cute and cozy place to stay! I loved how close it was to restaurants and cafes—super convenient for grabbing food or coffee without having to go far. The bed was really comfortable, and everything was clean and well-kept.A few ants did come out during our stay, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. Other than that, it was a great spot and I’d definitely consider staying here again"

"Such a nice cozy cottage just steps away from downtown area and harbor entrance. Love to sit in the hot tub and watch the vessels leave and return. Incredible sunsets, and on our previous trip, took lots of video of whales just yards from the shore."

"We'd totally book here again! This gem was clean, smelled great & was in a fantastic location. We were comfortable, us & our pup, Enzo. Our expectations of "dog friendly" rooms at hotels or resorts are typically low. We excpect a room that smells like wet dog & cleaner. The patio with a view & the grass outside for potty time was the cherry on top! Well that & all of the accessibile restaurants & whale watching spots nearby. We actually booked two nights later at the SCP Redmond Hotel, because the Depoe Bay location was so great! Our roadtrip was epic & we were thankful for a clean & cozy space to relax."

"The place was great. The only thing I noticed was a little mildew in the shower and some staining on the shower floor. Otherwise, it was as if everything was brand new. The steepled ceiling really lent to an open, airy feeling. I would definitely stay here again!"
