"I had a very disappointing experience at Colonial Inn. First, I was placed in a smoking room—something I didn’t even realize still existed. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable. It was so bad that we had to keep the windows open the entire time and even went out to buy a candle just to make the room somewhat bearable. When I asked to switch rooms, I was told the hotel was fully booked, so we were stuck dealing with it. To make matters worse, they charged a $100 security deposit, and it has now been two weeks with no refund. When I called to follow up, the staff member I spoke to was extremely rude and didn’t even bother checking whether the deposit had been released. Between the condition of the room, lack of accommodation, and poor customer service, this stay fell far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here."

"Never said construction would be happening, random doors were open constantly and in the pool area, it was 34° outside. All the ice-makers were broken and you had to go to the front desk for them to get it from the kitchen. 2nd floor reeked like weed, I could’ve smoked myself, there was no accountability. "We stayed here due to the access to the Braintree Logan Express, which was a 5 minute Uber ride away. We parked at the express, not at Sonesta. The hotel is grubby, smelly, and there were numerous people loitering outside the entrance which made us uneasy. There was a persistent smell of marijuana throughout the hotel which kept me up all night. Honestly it would be worth it to stay somewhere else and pay a bit more for comfort and safety. "
