「Perfect location next to the beach with great views and close to all local amenities, including the pier. Staff are helpful and friendly. 」

「The position is excellent with nice terrace and gardens, with a view of the beach. The room was in the old original hotel on the top floor at the rear and was very hot even with the sash window open, we requested a fan but it got overlooked.」

「The Royal Beacon is a nice comfortable hotel with excellent views. The bedroom furniture was a bit dated but in reasonable condition. The bed was very great. The bathroom décor was also a bit dated, but very clean and serviceable with plenty of hot water and flutty clean towels. The staff were very pleasant. It's just a shame there's no evening dining. Having said that, there are lots of restaurants and cafes in close proximity. 」

「I stayed at this hotel for one night on a trip to Cornwall. I must say that the facility is well-maintained, and the room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is served. Normally, I prefer the buffet, but the service is fast and attentive. Let's just say that it lacked the wow factor to earn a fifth star. The hotel's location, although conveniently located directly on a link road and not far from the city centre, is not in a particularly attractive part of Exeter. 」

「Overall a nice hotel. Although this was a new hotel the TV didn’t work and the WIFI. Very poor when not in communal area. Watch out at the bar tried as they tried to charge us doubles when only given single measures.」

Room felt like a 90's Travel Lodge, worn with a fair few obvious fixes (a few shoddy) around the room. Money off the onsite Cinema when you stay. Did everything it was supposed to do on a work trip. 」
