"A Magical and Heartwarming Stay at Relais Casali della Cisterna We originally planned to stay for just one night, and ended up staying for two, simply because we couldn’t leave! Relais Casali della Cisterna is a truly special place, elegant, peaceful, and full of warmth. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine kindness. The hosts, Simona and Alberto, went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, offering great local tips, and always making us feel at home. Our room was beautifully designed, spacious, and spotless, with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Waking up to the view of the lake from our balcony was unforgettable. The gardens surrounding the villa are lush and peaceful, perfect for relaxing walks or a quiet coffee in the morning sun. Breakfast was excellent, fresh pastries, fruit, local cheeses, and eggs made to order. It’s one of those places where every detail feels cared for. The location is also great, just a few minutes’ drive from Stresa and Belgirate, close enough to explore but quiet enough to feel completely away from it all. We’ve stayed in many places across Europe, but this one really stands out for its charm, authenticity, and the warmth of its hosts. We left with a full heart and wonderful memories. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!"

"Superb host! Our stay in Caravate was truly unforgettable. The property is a beautifully remodeled barn, where every detail has been carefully thought out to create an atmosphere that is both warm and functional. Inside, everything was impeccably furnished, combining modern comfort with rustic charm in the most tasteful way.The grounds surrounding the barn are wide, tranquil, and dotted with fruit trees, making it a peaceful place to relax and unwind. While the house itself doesn’t open directly to expansive views, a short and pleasant trail walk from the property rewards you with stunning vistas over the surrounding hills and countryside. This balance between quiet seclusion and easy access to breathtaking scenery made our stay feel very special.We loved the calmness of being up on the hilltop, enjoying the plain grounds shaded by fruit trees, and then being able to take a quick stroll to soak in the beauty of the panorama. "What an amazing place to spend a couple of summer weeks! A well-equipped villa with a wonderful open-plan living area, big garden, large pool and a view that takes your breath away. We could easily walk downhill to the village but be prepared for an uphill return. Communication with the owner was excellent and all questions were answered promptly and fully. Even at the busiest time of year, the area around Ranco is not overcrowded, with plenty to do and easy boat access to the busier areas of the lake for those who want it. We will be back! "

"My husband and I stayed for a week, and enjoyed it very much. The condo is equipped with everything, there is nothing you would miss - starting from the umbrella in the rare case of rain, to the adapter you forgot at home. I worked from the condo, and brought an extra screen, and although the apartment was not advertised for it, I could make it work. The host is super responsive and helpful. The airconditioning in the bedroom is great, we slept well. The kitchen and living room can get pretty warm, but this is Europe in the summer! It is in the description, but understand this has a steep staircase and is not appropriate for anyone who has trouble walking, or walking upstairs. Can definitely recommend!"

"This house had many nice features, including the very large room size. The living room, dining room, patio and bedrooms were airy and comfortable.The deck overlooking the train and lake was very nice and we used it most evenings. The trains are pretty quiet and didn't bother us at all, in fact we kind of enjoyed them. Belgirate had a few good restaurants and a nice walk along the river although we stayed there for its proximity to Stresa which is an active town with many restaurants and shopping. The only downsides to the house included the paucity of supplies for the kitchen and bathroom. There were no dish towels or paper towels in the kitchen, there was no effective working coffeemaker ( a MUST for our family), not many coffee cups and we were provided a tiny little container of dish soap and one dishwasher pod. Likewise for the bathroom no soap or kleenex and only ONE roll of toilet paper.I feel these small issues could be easily remedied for about 50 and I would give this house a higher review."
