"After a very tiring walk across the moors. the Tan Hill offered a very welcoming sight. Even better was the ambience inside, with a very welcoming and helpful host. The bedroom was tastefully decorated with a massive bed and lovely shower room. Needing a hearty meal the 3 of us were delighted with melt in the mouth cooked to perfection steak and chicken pies and a giant Yorkshire boeuf bourgignon. We will be back !"

"Room was compact but comfortable, the bed especially comfortable. Best in room coffee ever! TV was impossible to sort out, HUGE but useless. A leak from toilet cabinet meant floor was wet most of the time, and was reported to manager, I'm sure it'll be fixed for next people. Pub is oozing with atmosphere, food is excellent. Staff are great. Somebody could pick up litter outside once in a while to improve the look."

"The Hotel has a lot of character and is in a beautiful location in the Dales. We watched lambs playing in the field as we had breakfast. There are great walks on to the Dales or down to the river from the front door. The staff were very friendly, and we had a lovely restful stay."

"Superb location in the heart of the Dales. Great place to be for walks and more adventurous hikes. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls. Food was excellent at breakfast and for dinner. Thank you to Danielle for her excellent service in the Friday evening. Highly recommend."

"The full Cumbrian breakfast was swimming in fat, with rockhard poached eggs. The next day when I specifically said I didn't want anything fried, all grilled, it wasn't too bad."

"Clean room 21 thank you. Taps could be improved. Flush mechanism in toilet poor. Requires new fill valve to allow correct amount of water in to give a reliable flush. Not good for 2 days stay!"
