"Fantastic place to stop when in the area or on the way to Cornwall"

"Lovely staff and great food. We felt very looked after."

"We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality pillows. The shower room was large, clean and modern. It was so reasonably priced, we expected a lot less!"

"There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back."

"Location was incredible, lovely room and grounds"

"Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers"

"Nice historic property"

"Love staying here. Lovely room with a balcony, huge bed and spotlessly clean. Staff are really nice and food is fabulous and hot. Lovely setting and so quiet. Ground floor rooms available"

"An absolute diamond! It was our third stay here and each visit does not disappoint. Helpful, efficient team, amazing food and a spacious room with sea view. Ambience just right for an excellent escape."

"Spotless rooms, attentive friendly staff, lovely sea view and excellent breakfast"

"Great Spa facilities, certainly stand out will be back"

"Beautiful grounds and castle room. Don’t recommend staying next to the elevator though as it was quite loud"

"Fabulous stay for 2 nights, great staff, great food, breakfast and dinner, very comfortable bed."

"Helpful staff and impressive view."

"Convenient location in Exeter for access in and out of the city. Friendly staff at check in. Decent buffet breakfast but can get congested at peak times. Parking available but expensive in Exeter. You get a discount voucher which helps a lot. Have stayed here a few times and will continue to do so."

"Overnight stay prior to leaving Plymouth on ferry to Santander. Great food , staff and room was brilliant. Will stay again on next trip."
