「Hotel was amazing and owner very friendly. However we booked on Expedia because included free breakfast however owner wanted to charge us $20 pp. we went off site for breakfast. Also couldn’t get the TV to work in the living room, we made the owner aware.」

「when we pulled up to the property we looked at each other and said no way. but,we went in. the place was not at all what the pictures depicted.but we looked at the room , the bed was not made, the room was not what we expected from the pictures ,so we did not check in. I would like a full refund.Because of the name Wyndam we expected quality. we went elsewhere.」

「Room floor was dirty, ants everywhere. Moved bed to be closer to outlet and find bottom of bed full of trash from previous stays. Bedsheets as well as towels all stained and walls covered in dust. Very neglected place.」

「The room was nice and spacious. There were a few areas that did not look clean. 1. The back splash behind the bathroom sink had makeup stains and the lotion bottle had a makeup smudge on it. 2. We also notice the head board in one of the rooms was pretty stained up and 3. Used the washer and dryer noticed in the dryer vent that it looked as though the vent had not been cleaned in sometime. Walls could use a fresh coat of paint along with the cabinets. It was also very cold in there even though...

「There’s inconsistency related to cleaning my room. One day the bed is made and other days it is not. There’s one day, my room was not clean at all. The fitness room is too busy. Did not have opportunity to workout because it was too busy. There’s coffee maker in my room. Would appreciate it if there’s bottle water for them. Securities everywhere which is good. 」

「Its alright for an overnight stay, just a little dated. Breakfast not a lot to choose from. Only one ice machine for the whole building. Jetted tubs do not work so don't request this type of room.」

「This was our first experience staying at Shinola although we knew about the hotel's reputation as a premier property in Detroit. It was just a one-night stay, but we had an incredible experience. I had reached out in advance sharing it was a special occasion celebrating an anniversary and babymoon. I didn't expect much but I believe we were assigned a more spacious corner room and received a very sweet hand-written letter from the staff, along with a bottle of sparkling juice and some chocolates...

「Exceeded expectations. Great hotel that is perfectly located in downtown Detroit. Walking distance to Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, and Ford Field. Also Detroit Opera House, Fillmore, and Fox. Room was awesome. Breakfast in Rise is very good. The Lone Goat pub is attached and awesome. Lots of shops, cocktail bars, etc in the immediate area. Definitely will go back.」
