"Very happy with Icon. Entrance and access were convenient and easy, location very good, with bus stops within a 2-3 minute walk, the Lido/Cassarate area only 12-15 minute walk, and downtown only a 20-minute or so walk. The building was modern, and accommodation was very nice. Murphy bed very comfy, good kitchen and a very good bathroom with a rain showerhead. Nothing but nice things to say...we really loved it! "

"The hotel is well situated, an apt hotel which are well equipped, clean and has all the amenities that one needs. The reason for the low rating is due mainly to a mix up in the reservations that we have and how it was handled. We reserved two bedrooms apt, got only one, and also by mistake they overcharge me, and it took me two months and many phone calls and emails to get my money back. Also, we were there during the heat wave and their AC doesn't work that great and it does not go below 22...

"Owner was very responsive and the listing is spot-on. Plenty of space for our family of 4. Lovely garden, patio and hammock in which to relax. Property is well-equipped and clean. Easy 9 minute walk to downtown Lugano where there is plenty of restaurants and shopping. The property isn’t air conditioned and open windows can lend themselves to a bit of noise from cars passing by, but it’s a lovely property in a great location."

"Simple appartment in a block of flats. The kitchen is small and poorly equipped, given the size of the flat. Be aware that it has no air-conditioning. (We noticed, because it was >33°C outside.) Big rooms, we slept well. No dedicated parking available, so we had to look elsewhere for public parking, which was no big deal, though. Communication with the agency was a disaster. "This is a grand palatial hotel, it’s very beautiful sat right at the top of a large hill. In its day it would have been an amazing place to stay. Now a tad dated but still a lovely place to stay. All the staff are friendly, very professional and generous. I had a corner room with a small balcony and superb view of lake Varese. My room was big and the bathroom clean. The only difficult part if you stay a while and plan to eat out (rather than in the grand restaurant) is that there’s no easy way to walk down into Varese so you need to drive there or get a taxi. "

"So many good things to say about this quintessential Italian hotel. It is beautifully decorated, the staff are very helpful, great location, extensive European breakfast in a beautiful room overlooking Lake Como. I ate dinner there on my first night and it was very good. Our room was a king deluxe overlooking the adjacent piazza. It was spacious and including a small fridge and microwave. I would stay there again. "

"Hotel Villa Fiori at Lake Como is simply wonderful. The view is absolutely stunning, one of those you never get tired of admiring. Breakfast was very good, with quality products and a pleasant atmosphere to start the day. A big plus is the flexibility for dining: you can enjoy a proper dinner at the restaurant or just get something lighter at the lounge bar, which is perfect after a day around the lake. Another great advantage is the plenty of parking space, which is not always easy to find in the Lake Como area."
