“Very quiet, cozy & comfortable Inn. Although located in a remote area of Lake District, easy to find & can reach other spots easily. Must try the dinner at the restaurant which is very good with reasonable price. Only the towel rack in my room is not working which is a minor stuff. Furthermore everything in the breakfast seems overcooked.”

“Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. “Really enjoyed our break at the Royal Oak hotel, Easy check in, very quiet room and comfortable Could not fault anything. Meals were lovely Breakfast was to die for very good quantity produce, really set us up for the day. Staff and manager were very attentive. Looking forward to staying hear again.”

“Loved our stay at the Troutbeck inn! Staff seemed hardworking and very busy but remained friendly and approachable at all times. Our stay was very quiet and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was great and, though I'm never normally a full English person at breakfast, I had one of theirs as my partner's breakfast looked cracking on the first morning (and mine didn't disappoint!)
