“Loved our stay at here, staff were very welcoming and helpful and patient with our young Vizsla dog. Ideal set up for staying with a dog, with rooms located opposite site of the car park to the cosy pub. Food was excellent. Definitely would come and stay here again. ”

“We loved our stay at the Ancient Gatehouse. The room was lovely and looked out over the green in front of the Wells Cathedral. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent Italian restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner before walking around the lovely town of Wells. Americans should know it is not air conditioned, but air conditioning is rare in the UK and Europe. There is a fan and lovely large windows. We will definitely return.”

“We asked whether we could have an early check-in as we were attending a wedding locally and were told it wasnt a problem as the room hadnt been used the day before. The room itself was nice and clean and the beds were really comfortable. There was plenty of extra room for us to walk around and get changed etc. As we were on the ground floor, we had a double door which opened straight into our room. Meaning we didnt have to go through the main entrance. Breakfast was amazing. Sausage, bacon,……

“Really nice chilled out environment, Really helpful staff, very relaxing with excellent spa treatments onsite if required or just relax with ambient atmosphere when using the swimming pool, sauna, steam, hydrotherapy area's giving it a pure chilled vibe to unwind, we booked an executive room with a canal view, just watching the barge boats go past whilst having a beer next to the water it was a very good & relaxed atmosphere, we would definitely be returning to the hotel/spa we had excellent……

“It was perfect for a night or 2. I tried contacting the owner before hand to ask booking in time and how to get in but no reply so we were hanging around hoping. More communication would be great, however the rooms were small and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean, pure white towels, clean bedding and plenty of sockets. Lovely outside seating area. Will definitely return. ”
