"Room was very basic, just a sink and a wall rack with some coat hangers on. There was a tv but I don’t really watch tv. Walls could’ve done with a coat of paint but the carpet was clean and the bedding also. Pretty much the cheapest I could find in the area and I was only there for one night so was perfectly adequate for my needs. Toilets and showers were in the halls of the hotel, not in room so if you’re fine with that, good. Don’t be expecting Premier Inn style in room amenities. A couple of toilets and I think a shower room were out of order but this didn’t cause any issues at all. Staff were very friendly and polite, couldn’t have asked for more. There was an ample kitchen space with fridges/freezers, kettle, microwave and even a couple of hobs for cooking. Overall I was happy with my stay and would use this business again, although if I’d had my kids with me I would’ve probably wanted bathroom amenities in my room. For short stays of a few days I would definitely recommend, for longer stays or travelling with younger children I would want an in room bathroom."
Modern 1st Floor Apartment on the outskirts of Bo'ness

"An amazing first class apartment (on 1st floor) in every aspect and the most welcoming hosts who really do put heart and soul into curating every little detail of not only the accommodation, but the entire guest experience. Could not fault our stay in any way from start to finish. The pictures do not capture how homely and comfortable this apartment is, it really felt like a home away from home. Jill and Ken went above and beyond thinking of every little detail to create a real 5 star experience. Far from a transactional commercial letting, this level of hospitality felt like the guest was warmly welcomed. The hosts were also super helpful in answering questions, very responsive in communications, and it felt like they genuinely care about the guests. We have travelled quite a bit and stayed in many properties, and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed at worldwide. Would definitely love to stay here again.Property is very well maintained, all appliances worked well, cleanliness was spotless, and every little convenience considered. The apartment is cosy yet spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen, what you get is exactly as advertised. Very convenient to have a designated car park included as opposed to having to find street parking. Location was great, quiet, calm and peaceful neighbourhood with a small supermarket in walking distance, while also being easy to get into Edinburgh city centre from.Thank you to the lovely hosts for a truly magnificent stay :)"
Historic 1BR Home in Culross Near Filming Sites

"Our stay at Cunninghame's Rest provided a wonderful welcome to Scotland! We drove the half hour directly from the Edinburgh Airport to find parking out front of the beautiful historic building housing the apartment at 1 Low Causeway, easy lock box access to the apartment, a clean and comfortable interior exactly as advertised, and a thoughtfully warm welcome basket of snacks and treats on the table. The location of this home away from home is absolutely perfect within a short walk of a delicious meal at the Red Lion Inn or breakfast/lunch at the Mercat or Bessie's Cafe. The town of Culross is definitely as picturesque as advertised and a must to experience if you want to step back in time into the Scotland of old and meet warm, friendly people around every corner! My husband and I will never forget the memories we made while staying at Cunninghame's Rest and truly appreciate the hospitality of the host!"

"Fabulous apartment situated perfectly in the fabulous little town. The welcome basket was a wonderful surprise on check-in, and just added to the enjoyment of the apartment. Fabulously stocked with everything you could need for a stay, good sized rooms, comfortable bed, all the pots and pans for a gourmet meal. And minutes walk to the Red Lion for a pint."

"Lovely place and the owners were really friendly and nice to talk to, recommended great places to visit while staying here. The place itself is cute and cozy, and being sat in the livingroom with the fireplace going late in the evening really made our stay 10x better than expected. "
